Tuning the Soft Clip Feature
This section describes how to tune the Soft Clip feature to control the soft clip submodule of sharpness within a DC9400.
Before you begin
- The details view contains the Soft Clip table for
sharpness.
To tune this feature, you need to choose in the Features view. For more details, see Tuning a DC9400 Feature.

- A VTunerServer is accessible.

About this task
Procedure
- Next to Enable Soft Clip, select Enable to enable the soft clip submodule of sharpness.
- In the Soft Clip Positive Weight text box, enter the positive gain to increase the sharpness effects of areas with high brightness but also increase noise in these areas.
- In the Soft Clip Negative Weight text box, enter the absolute value of the negative gain to increase the sharpness effects of areas with low brightness but also increase noise in these areas.
- In the Soft Clip Positive Offset text box, enter the positive offset of the luma channel.
- In the Soft Clip Negative Offset text box, enter the absolute value of the negative offset of the luma channel.
Results
- The tuning results are printed in the Console view in real time.
- The image displayed on the VTunerServer side is updated.
