Tuning the Luma Gain Feature

This section describes how to tune the Luma Gain feature to control the luma gain submodule of sharpness within a DC9400.

Before you begin

Make sure:
  • The details view shows the settings of the Luma Gain feature for sharpness.

    To tune this feature, you need to choose DC9400 > Sharpness > Luma Gain in the Features view. For more details, see Tuning a DC9400 Feature.

  • A VTunerServer is accessible.

    For information about how to set up a connection to a VTunerServer, see Setting Up a Connection to a VTunerServer.

About this task

This feature is used to tune the luma gain submodule of sharpness, which applies different sharpening gains to pixels in different luma intervals.
The details view of Luma Gain includes a graph on the left to show the gains at a total of nine control points, where:
  • The vertical axis indicates the gain.
  • The horizontal axis indicates the luma value.

Procedure

In the row crresponding to the number of the control point that you want to edit, double-click the cell in the Gain column and update the gain value.

Results

  • The tuning results are printed in the Console view in real time.
  • The image displayed on the VTunerServer side is updated.
