Tuning the Down Scale Feature

This section describes how to tune the Down Scale feature to control the down-scaler submodule of LTM within a DC9400.

Before you begin

Make sure:
  • The details view contains the Down Scale table for LTM.

To tune this feature, you need to choose DC9400 > LTM > Down Scale in the Features view. For more details, see Tuning a DC9400 Feature.

  • A VTunerServer is accessible.

For information about how to set up a connection to a VTunerServer, see Setting Up a Connection to a VTunerServer.

Procedure

  1. Next to Down Scale Crop, click View/Edit this Table and specify the cropping area in the prompted dialog.
The columns in Down Scale Crop are described as follows:
    • X: the X coordinate of the upper-left corner of the cropping area
    • Y: the Y coordinate of the upper-left corner of the cropping area
    • W: the width of the cropping area
    • H: the height of the cropping area
You can use one of the following methods to update the Down Scale Crop table:
    • Double-click and edit a cell in the table to update a single value.
    • Click Edit and update the values in the prompted Edit Table dialog.

The values must be specified in the same order as the table columns and separated by a comma (,).

    • Click Export to export the values to a .csv file, edit the file, and then import the updated values from the .csv file.

The order of the values in the exported .csv file is the same as that in the table.

  2. Next to Down Scale Output, click View/Edit this Table and specify the downscaled image width and height in the prompted dialog.
The methods of updating the Down Scale Output table are similar to those of updating the Down Scale Crop table described in Step 1.
Currently, the X and Y columns in the Down Scale Output table are invalid.

Results

  • The tuning results are printed in the Console view in real time.
  • The image displayed on the VTunerServer side is updated.
