Tuning the Curve Generation Feature

This section describes how to tune the Curve Generation feature to control the curve evaluation submodule of sharpness within a DC9400.

Before you begin

Make sure:
  • The details view contains the Curve Generation table for sharpness.

To tune this feature, you need to choose DC9400 > Sharpness > Curve Generation in the Features view. For more details, see Tuning a DC9400 Feature.

  • A VTunerServer is accessible.

For information about how to set up a connection to a VTunerServer, see Setting Up a Connection to a VTunerServer.

About this task

This feature is used to tune the curve evaluation submodule of sharpness, which maps input coefficients to output efficients based on a 1D LUT. The 1D LUT contains 13 parameters: node0 to node5 and gain0 to gain6, where node0 and gain0 are generated from the parameter settings by using the noise model LUT.

Procedure

  1. In the Sharp Master Gain text box, enter the color gain.
The larger the gain, the more obvious the image sharpening.
  2. Next to Sharp Lpf Curve, click View/Edit this Table and edit the LPF curve in the prompted dialog.
You can use one of the following methods to update the Sharp Lpf Curve table:
    • Double-click and edit a cell in the table to update a single value.
    • Click Edit and update the values in the prompted Edit Table dialog.

The values must be specified in the same order as the table columns and separated by a comma (,).

    • Click Export to export the values to a .csv file, edit the file, and then import the updated values from the .csv file.

The order of the values in the exported .csv file is the same as that in the table.

Results

  • The tuning results are printed in the Console view in real time.
  • The image displayed on the VTunerServer side is updated.
