Tuning the Color Boost Feature

This section describes how to tune the Color Boost feature to control the color boost submodule of sharpness within a DC9400.

Before you begin

Make sure:
  • The details view contains the Color Boost table for sharpness.

    To tune this feature, you need to choose DC9400 > Sharpness > Color Boost in the Features view. For more details, see Tuning a DC9400 Feature.

  • A VTunerServer is accessible.

    For information about how to set up a connection to a VTunerServer, see Setting Up a Connection to a VTunerServer.

About this task

This feature is used to tune the color boost submodule of sharpness, which sharpens the U and V signals based on the ratio of sharpen Y to input Y in order to saturate or desaturate the image.

Procedure

  1. Next to Color Boost Enable, select Enable to enable the color boost submodule of sharpness.
  2. In the Color Boost Positive Gain text box, enter the positive gain to enhance image saturation.
  3. In the Color Boost Negative Gain text box, enter the absolute value of the negative gain to desaturate the image.
  4. In the Color Boost Luma Offset text box, enter the offset of the luma channel.

Results

  • The tuning results are printed in the Console view in real time.
  • The image displayed on the VTunerServer side is updated.
